BankVic is proud to support the Hospital Heroes Gallery as part of The Royal Children’s Hospital’s (RCH) 150th anniversary in 2020. 

Through photographs and portraits, the Hospital Heroes Gallery will tell just some of the stories of the many unsung heroes whose passion and dedication has ensured the RCH remains one of the world’s leading paediatric hospitals.

Throughout the year, four exhibitions will spotlight the staff, researchers, volunteers, fundraisers, donors, and patients and their families, sharing the overarching theme of ‘this is the hospital that we built’. 

The promoter of the competition is Police Financial Services Limited ABN 33 087 651 661 - trading as BankVic | AFSL and Australian Credit Licence 240293 of Level 3, 215 Spring Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000. The competition is open to new and existing BankVic Members who vote for their favourite Hospital Heroes picture in the BankVic Royal Children’s Hospital Branch. The competition opens 5 February 2020 and closes 7 April 2020. All valid entries will be placed in the draw. The competition will be drawn at 2 pm on 7 April 2020 at the Royal Children’s Hospital BankVic Branch, 48 Flemington Rd, Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000. The winner will be notified via email and their full name will be published in the June edition of Member Matters. The first eligible person whose name is drawn wins a $500 BankVic Everyday Account Valued at $500. The prize will be deposited into the winner’s BankVic account upon receipt of their account details, if the winner is not a member of BankVic they will be required to open a BankVic account in order to claim the prize. The prize is not transferable or redeemable (through BankVic) travellers’ cheques or foreign currency. The prize must be claimed by 23 April 2020. If the original winner of the prize is unable to be contacted despite the promoter’s reasonable efforts to contact them, then an additional entrant’s name may be drawn and substituted for the name of the original winner of that prize. Members under the age of 18 years are not eligible to enter. Members residing outside of Victoria are not eligible to enter. Employees and directors of the promoter and their immediate families (spouse/partner, child or parent) are / are not eligible to enter this competition. All entries remain the property of BankVic. The promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. The promoter is not liable and is released by each entrant from any claim or liability in relation to participation in this competition. Personal information obtained as a result of entry into the campaign may be used by BankVic for any purpose including future marketing and to meet the conditions of entry. As per relevant legislation affecting the conduct of lotteries entries will be retained for three years following the winner’s claiming of their prizes and then destroyed.. Nenita Rennie

Nenita has worked at The Royal Children’s Hospital for over 30 years, she is a valued member of the hospital working as Environmental Services Assistant.


Stephen Pinzone

Steve is a valued member of the Anaesthesia Technologist team here at the RCH, well respected by his direct colleagues and Anaesthetists whom he has assisted on a daily basis over many years. 

Recognised for his service, by receiving one of the coveted RCH awards. 

His wit whilst working with critically ill patients can be uplifting in the most tragic of circumstances to the entire team involved in peri-operative anaesthesia patient care. 

Families of our community of patients value Steve’s wonderful nature and regularly look for his presence whilst caring for their fragile children when anaesthetised. 

Rodney Sepulveda

Rod has applied 25 years of service to the RCH, one important role is talking to the patients and parents making them feel comfortable and to make ones stay easier. 

He is an outstanding and valuable team member who provides quality care, customer service, team work, empathy and a sense of humour with a can do approach.

Rod is an example of RCH values and an important part of the theatre recovery team who  has been previously been recognised for his hard work, team work and patient focused service.

David Murphy

David commenced his role as a Support Services Coordinator back in August, 2007.

David is a passionate and articulate educator, investing countless hours teaching our support staff about both the technical aspects of their various roles, as well as the fundamental connection between what they do and positive patient outcomes.

David is well liked and respected across the organisation having always approached his role with a combination of insight, fairness and good humour.


Unfortunately, due to the rapidly changing developments of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Australia the Hospital Heroes Gallery has been removed until further notice. 
It’s times like this we need our Hospital Heroes more than ever.
